Pregnant beauties, is constipation making you feel frustrated? Constipation can be your No. 1 enemy if not taken care of. Pregnancy hormones make the digestive system sluggish, causing gas, bloating and constipation. Please read... Water:- Ladies, fill up your water bottles, or jug, or whatever, but empty them without fail into your mouth, 3 ltrs. a day. It will keep your body hydrated and also help in bowel movements. Cut the Caffeine:- Reducing tea and coffee would be great as the caffeine in them contributes to constipation. Food:- Eating smaller, frequent meals will help in reducing overload of the digestive system. So bloating, acidity etc. are reduced. Also include fibre loaded food, fruits and leafy vegetables in your diet. The more colourful your plate, the better! Having a few overnight soaked raisins in the morning also helps, and it is rich in iron too. Exercise:- Being active aids in digestion and also relieves constipation. Do prenatal yoga, walk, do household work like cleaning etc. Do discuss with your gynecologist before deciding what fitness routine to adapt before starting out. Doing the deed:- Before you think its something else, I am talking about bowel movements. When nature calls, do not delay even a second. As soon as you get the urge, rush towards the nearest potty facility. These helped me in my pregnancy, and I am sure it will help you too. In any event that you are constipated, talk to yoir doctor. Constipation can lead to hemorrhoids, hence it is best prevented. Stay healthy ladies!
