If your child has not started speaking till; 1.5 or 2 years don't delay in meeting a doc thinking he will learn on his own or just a late speaker. It might be a sign of a underlying hearing or cognitive problem. Early diagnosis will lead to better treatment. Children learn the fastest till 3 years of age and most important for Speech development.

So true, it never hurts to visit a doctor to just be sure that ur child is all okay.

Yes correct...words and by 2 years phrases but they should be meaningful no doubt.
