I am 23 weeks with twin pregnancy. my last usg done at 19 weeks suggest cervical length 3.3, encirclage done at 15 weeks. my doc says I have clinically short cervix.
Due to which I am on strict bed rest.
Does cervical length differ clinical and by usg.
I also heard that lower segment of uterus grows upto 28 weeks so the cervical length decrease upto 28 weeks not beyond that.
Does the stich get loosen by babies weight.
I want my pregnancy to go up to 37 weeks.
I am afraid of preterm labour. I am already on progestrone and uterine relaxants
what else precautions should I take to avoid these types of complications.
also due to bed rest I am having gaseous distension which is quite uncomfortable.

With twins we expect the Pregnancy to be full term at anytime after week 35. Yes the cervix can get affected as the weight grows. You already have a cerclage and this should hold thru the Pregnancy. I believe the doctor is giving progesterone and other uterine relaxants as a precaution. Eat small meals drink plenty of fluids and you can take some antacids to relieve the gas feeling. Speak to your doctor if some kind of movements are allowed as the reason for your bed rest is not very clear.
