all anomaly scans cover the basics of fetal cardiac assessment. if ur doc feels the need fr a detailed cardiac study due to something picked up on a routine scan or if there are risk factors fr a cardiac anomaly, then a detailed fetal cardiac study maybe performed. the ideal time is 18-22 weeks but can be done later as well.
