Hi ,; i agree with <u>Rebecca..</u><br> I hd; GD in; my pragnancy..there is no any symptoms of it ..u hv to check it everymonth if u hv any family history..when i got 3 kg weight in 4th month nd 5th month too.my dr.suggested me to check sugar ..nd i had GD.

Just to add I just checked with one of my friend who had GD and she has extreme dryness of mouth and she felt thirsty all the time.

Unfortunately gestational diabetes doesn't have any symptoms, Its silent till its diagnosed. However gynaecologist will check random sugar in early pregnancy if they suspect. . If the patient is obese, has family history, late age conception , if there is a sudden increase in weight in early pregnancy itself, if the patient is on complete bed rest where there is no physical activities ..I never had any symptoms and so far nothing different to be noticed. My dad is a diabetic and my age is 34 so I had early test where it was on border line then by 28th week I got GD. Hope this helps.
