Dear Shabbi, When a child falls ill it can be worrisome but by getting stressed and tensed , you end up making it more tough for yourself. When you are calmer you are better able to handle the situation. You mentioned you get angry when your husband seems cool while your son is ill. Each one of us handles stress in a different way. Your husband is probably handling it in a calmer way as he knows by getting anxious it may not be of any help to you, your child or the situation. Being calm does not mean there's no stress rather their way of tackling stress is possibly healthier. Motherhood is a rollercoaster and it can be exhausting. Take some time out for yourself and reconnect. If you can get some help from a trusted family member or friend to baby sit for an hour. Try to get some rest or catch up on a good book or do something for yourself. Or may be go out on a date with your husband once your baby is better. I would also suggest a visit to the gynaecologist or a counselor to check if you are struggling with depression, which might be making everything that much harder for you. You are not a bad mom, you are human! :-)and yes you are concerned about your child's wellbeing which shows your love. Try not being so hard on yourself. Thinking about your responsibilities as a mother is a healthy sign but overthinking is not.
