Opv is oral polio vaccine and yes also called polio drops. The government has a drive to eradicate polio from India and hence all children below five years of age will need to take opv every six months. It is a good idea to take this in addition to the doctor's drops as the fundamental is of all children are vaccinated on the same day in a community there is no scope for the virus to breed as there will be no receptive hosts.
