Hello everyone m 6th month pregnant and this is my anomoly scan everything is OK but a tiny echogenic cardiac focus is seen in the left ventricle of the fetal heart and also written here it's commonly seen in Asian people is everything OK my Dr asked me to go for 2D echo scan is it necessary coz from the start it's my 5th scan is scanning harmful to baby also Dr plz advice

Hi Sneha, echogenic cardiac focus is very much normal, I am in same boat ☺. My Dr says it will gone by week 24, even 2D echo scan is routine scan nothing worrying about it. Scan does not hurt your baby. We have to follow the standard routing. <br>

It is relatively common sonographic observation that may be present on an antenatal ultrasound scan. They are considered to represent mineralisation within the papillary muscles.. The majority of echogenic intracardiac foci are unilateral. Out of all the cardiac chambers, the left ventricle is the most frequent in terms of location.
