hello everyone! my son is 22 days old and I m breastfeeding him at regular intervals, I.e every 2 to 3 hours. my question is how do I understand whether he is satisfied with breast milk or not. today in d evening I kept feeding him for 2 and half hours but he still seemed dissatisfied. finally I fed him NAN pro 1 @ 60 ml and he fell asleep.can anyone guide what to do? my pediatrician strictly asked me not to top feed him but if my baby keeps crying because he is hungry, what can I do? what is the exact quantity of NAN suitable for my 22 days old?

thank you so much ladies.... @prithvi Balaji yes he is sucking for 20 mins avg from one breast.. at night when he is sleepy and feeding, that is enough but when he is completely awake and feeding, even after sucking from both breasts, he seems hungry... so at that point I m confused.

if your baby is feeding for such a long time then check if your breast is getting full and keep the baby in proper elevated position. to increase milk..drink shatavari with milk. you get shatavari easily in a medical store.

@ Remi ray. That smell baby it is indeed difficult to understand. However if the baby is drinking from one side for an average of 20 min and if your breast is very light then he has sucked it completely and he should be full. Also he would not cry atleast for 2-3 hours which also can be understood that he is full. To improve on your milk if you are a non-veg Eater you can have chicken or mutton, basically protein. you can also have sprouts of greenmoong, add garlic in everything and drink atleast 3 liters of water and 1 liter milk.
