hi anon that depends on which city u are in, which lifestage u are in, what kind of job u both have and the capability to pay back the home loan etc etc. if u like travelling and ur jobs dont restrict u to one city renting is a good option. once ur child starts going to school, u may feel the need to "sttle down" in one place. this is a very individual decision as everyone's case differs. good luck!
