Hello mommies..; I know it's too early to ask this question but this topic came up today and it made me restless. There is a tradition of shaving baby's hair once she/he turns 1 year and 3 months old. My baby has got long and silky hair and I don't want to shave them off. Who all followed this tradition? Does the hair regain it's previous texture once they are shaved?Let me know.

Are you sure it's for girls also? Because in most religions I have heard that it's for boys only. My sister in-law has a daughter and she never did that and still has her beautiful silky hair.

Exactly Priya Sood .. My sister also followed this tradition and her son's hair turned very dry after that..; He had beautiful hair before that .; I mean it's just an age old tradition. Can't we alter it a bit as per our convenience? We can cut a bit of hair. Can't we?

My family has a tradition of mundan within 3 years. My experience - his hair is not as soft as it was at birth. But it was a custom so followed
