Hello Mommies! Last week I fed her rice 🍚 and potatoes 🥔 and she ate well 🥳. Now I am feeling relaxed and satisfied. Otherwise I was very tensed that she was not eating homemade food properly. So now her routine is set for 2 meals a day. 1 in the morning and 2nd in the afternoon. Now my next target (as per her Peadiatrician's advice) is to introduce the third meal of the day, i.e., a fruit. It's been a full week since I am giving her rice 🍚 and potatoes 🥔, now it's time for a change. On the recommendations of Sathya Kalaiselven , I prepared Moong Daal Khichdi. So here's the recipe:
Recipe #12: Moong Daal Khichdi
INGREDIENTS
A handful of soaked rice 🍚
A handful of soaked Moong Daal
Haldi (on my mom's recommendations)
Water
Ghee (we visited Srija's Peadiatrician a few days back and when we told him that she did not eat homemade rice 🍚 and carrots 🥕, he said that we can put some ghee for taste)
METHOD
🥣 Put daal and rice 🍚 both in the saucepan and add water.
🥣 Bring it to boil and then simmer the gas flame. Cook it for another 10-15 minutes till the daal gets cooked completely.
🥣 Now add the ghee and let it cool down to room temperature.
🥣 Grind this Khichdi in the mixer grinder.
#DeepZHunger
The above khichdi is among those foods which she did not like at all. I will try for next 3 days and let's see what's next.
Please note:
👶 Always make small portions of baby food when introducing it for the first time.
👶 Don't worry if your baby doesn't eat much. Even 2-3 spoons are enough for 6 months old baby.
👶 Always use sterilized utensils for small babies.
👶 Whenever giving a new food to the baby, do a three days test. Give it for three days continuously and observe.
👶 Wash your hands with soap before preparing baby food.
👶 Use stainless steel bowl for serving.
👶 Use a round-edged plastic spoon to feed your little one. It will not hurt their gums. I used a Tupperware spoon. (If anybody wants to order any Tupperware product, then feel free to contact me)
👶 Never introduce a new food when the baby is very hungry. They might reject it.
👶 Even if your baby can't sit without support, feed her/him in the sitting position. Never feed them lying down.
👶 Give a sip of boiled water before and after the food. It will prevent constipation.
👶 Babies don't eat hot food. It should either be room temperature or cooler than that will also work.
👶 But when adding ghee, make sure the food is not too cold. It should be on the warmer side (not too hot either) so that ghee stays melted in the food and don't get deposited in child's food pipe. Giving cold ghee may cause soar throat.
👶 Remember that Ghee and Haldi are my choices to give to my baby. I am not recommending any of you to follow this blindly.

@616da9d2c1b4770013bd1b62 try adding veggies to your khichdi, flavour it with some mint and ghee.... Add a small piece of cinnamon, jeera... I introduced spices like cinnamon, cardamom, snauf, jeera around the same age to my boy and he relished the taste... Since these are not spicy they give a slightly sweet taste to the food with some flavour...
