u cn decorate ur drawing room or bedroom where u vl cut the cake. u cn order cake nd flower bunch or a single red rose. can gift him the thing which he needed the most like any clothes, walllet, perfume, shoes etc. can prepare his fav food if u guys are planning for home celebration..

my hubby always likes gifts which are useful. so i think what he requires most at the time and gift him that. you can also make the gift wrapping interesting like adding layers of boxes and wrappers or making the present look like something else - eg. a ring can be put in a perfume box. you can give him a surprise by decorating your room with scented candles, make the place romantic.

we dont eat sugar,  so got one pastry which worked as a cake.. and some roses to accompany the cake :) had a bday celebration when he reached home frm work.
