Hi
Actually delivered on 8sep 2016 via csection. My question is I m breastfeeding my baby but it looks as if baby is hungry so now ever time o breast feed I give feeder. And I also noticed that whn I squeeze my breast only drop r falling my milk is not flowing. Also I got a milk duct in my right breast it's not painful nor ingot mastitis it developed after a week of delivery. Now my baby is 15 month old.

Plz tell me why is my milk not flowing though baby is latching each breast for 30min.

And also what should I do to remove mild duct naturally. When I use hot pads I feel it's minimising.

Hi Sj Sara , Please reconfirm what is your baby s current age . You have mentioned 8th sept 2016 as ur delivery date - according to that baby should be 1.5 months old . But you are mentioning baby is 15 months old . to know if you are baby is getting enough milk or no - ask yourself the following questions - How many feeds in 24 hours ? 10-12 feeds in 24 hours is recommended . How many urine outputs in a day ? 6-10 urine outputs is a good sign . How many stool outputs ? 1-2 in a day or 1-2 in a week is good . If your answers match with my answers then milk will be sufficient . Milk flow can reduce if you are not feeding your baby or emptying your breast every 2 hours - because the brain realizes mom doesnt need too much milk . So first look into that . Secondly , also observe the larch of the baby . If the baby is only sucking on the nipple , or when u r squeezing the breast - are u squeezing only the nipple - then milk is not going to be sufficient as milk is stored in the ducts & areola . Not in the nipple . When you get answers to above questions , we can then help you with whether your milk is enough or no . If you feel , milk is less - increase your breastmilk by starting foods which help you produce milk & avoid stressing out . Also empty your breast when you are not feeding the baby - by hand massage and expression technique . Usually you are too early to give a feeder to a 1.5 month old baby . Secondly , ducts are a result of lack of emptying the breast completely because of which the milk remains there and blocks the duct . I would suggest you to visit a lactation consultant nearby to your area who can guide you as to how you can relieve the duct and not allow it to go into complication. Alternatively , do this routine - Hot fermentation Massage Expression by hand technique Every time before a feed . This shall help you relax your pain . You can search for lactation consultants on Babychakra .

yes you can increase your water intake .drink milk or glass of water before feeding.ask in medical stores for shatavari powder which you can take with milk. and without taking any stress keep yourself calm..be happy.

Hello new mom! A couple of things here from my experience. Its ok if only drops come. That is fine. To increase supply ensure you get a good diet and express your milk as well. 30 minutes for each is also good. Do as much as you can. Read through our articles on breastfeeding. They are very informative. All the best!
