If you continue with nipple shield baby will get used to it and will not want to latch directly. are your nipples not formed ? Who suggested the use of nipple shield and why ? If nipples are flat or inverted or if it is painful while feeding you should see a Lactation specialist to help with the same. It is important to resolve the same asap.

Please consult lactation experts. Initially baby will have difficulty in latching and to get things right...it will take almost 2 months. Keep trying... and support baby Wel while feeding . .. Congratulations for lovely baby..
