I am 27 weeks pregnant and have got gestational diabetes.. i am taking glucomet 850mg and under daily charting of blood glucose (BG)... advised for strict diet and walking which i strictly adhere to.... i had my breakfast - two idlis, medicines, and after 20 mins or so went for walk for 30 mins.. when i came back and measured, it showed as 160 which i was shocked and to recheck i tested again in two minutes and it showed as 136...; i am confused.
Is it possible that BG spikes after exercise/walk? Note my fasting value was 87 this morning...
Also is it some glitch in the device?? I am seriously concerned. If this week my values are in border, i am advised to start on insulin... which i would like to avoid if am able to control by medications...
Please suggest...
