Dr Charmi
There are two umbilical arteries and one vein in the umbilical cord. The umbilical cord is the transportation link between the mother and fetus for all the nutrition that the fetus needs. A single umbilical artery can be associated with other fetal anomalies. However in your case the anomaly scan doesn't show any associated anomalies. Hence the thing you now need to check on is the fetal growth and wt gain. Also it will be a good idea to get a fetal echo done at about 24weeks. Not all the fetuses with a single umbilical artery will lag in growth. However you need to met your doctor to plan out the exact further course.
