Babies often lose their hair during the first six months of life. This is because hair growth has two stages - a growing phase and a resting phase. After the resting phase, the hair falls out. In newborns, all the hair follicles enter the resting period at the same time, so the hair is likely to all fall out at the same time too. You might also notice bald patches on your baby's head. Bald patches usually come if your baby sleeps in the same position every night or if he has a habit of banging the same part of his head against the cot or the wall. That part of his head, which rubs against the mattress or bangs against the cot, loses its hair. This type of hair loss corrects itself as your baby starts to move around in his sleep more, and when he stops his head-banging behavior. Best regards Babychakra
