Hi dear mommies and would be mums! I need your suggestion:
I have taken a break from job as my job was very hectic and stressful. I decided to focus on my pregnancy as I didn't want to take any risks be it travelling or stress at work. I plan to join back when my baby turns at least 6 or 8 months old. However, this makes me worry about my work life balance post baby.
I wanted to know if you had faced similar situation and how did you manage it? I do I calm myself during this period.

Hi neha, first of all congrats on jumping into mommyhood! So heartening to see moms to be taking breaks to focus on baby! So in my case i had a baby at 35 only when i was ready to take a break from my hectic 14 yr advertising & ad film making career. I had made a conscious decision to freelance from home while i was expecting and took a good 2 year break from work (did the odd freelance project in between). I didnt want to go back to my crazy agency life. In any case we moved to goa where i had no professional opportunities that fit my work experience. I was very fortunate to get wfh online projects and then i co-founded & built india's first online community for entrepreneurs right from my dining table. So to answer ur q, i worked from home after baby was born so i cud manage both. My hubby also works from home and became the primary parent when i was consumed with my startup community and travelled frequently (only after my childoo turned 5 yrs old). Its not easy, but i suggest pls hire extra help at home. If possible have ur mom or MIL around with a nanny if u need to resume work right after ur maternity leave. I didnt hv that option as we live in a diff city so i was the devoted caretaker of my baby :) @619abb315917ae00144048d6 ; has recently posted about this topic. Pls chk her profile page and post. Trust me, u will be just fine. All of us take that leap of faith at some point of time. Good luck!

Every mom has her journey and her goals. If you feel you need to spend equal time at work and home then try to get opportunities that are more flexible. Part time teaching for example. It all boils down to what type of work life you want 5 part time career options for moms of toddlers; may be useful
