hi dear mommies, i am gonna resume work from april. though my employer is agreeable for flexible hours, my lil one is not getting used to taking feed from bottle, we have switched to trying from katori n it's a bit helpful but he cries a lot in the middle of feeding n by then my MIL freaks out. also have heard tat he will reverse his feeding by taking more feeds in nite is tat true? can all mommies who r working pour in their suggestions or share their experiences on how u all managed? TIA.

Try using an infant medicine dropper as that will be easier for your mother in law to feed. It is natural for baby to offer some resistance as it is a new method. It is best that baby does not take bottle as it reduces the chances of infections, nipple confusion, over feeding, jaw development issues etc. Yes when moms reduce work babies do tend to feed more at night to compensate for what they have missed during the day but this is a temporary phase and baby will soon settle back into a routine.

hi ketki, as you are feeding baby expressed milk, when baby is hungry, you yourself offer baby the milk with katori and spoon... also try this at the appox. time baby is going to feel hungry, by this time you will be probably knowing... once baby starts taking without fuss from you, mil can try... have patience, it might take time...
