The baby is moving around constantly in the womb. One end of the cord is attached to the baby and the other end to the placenta. Hence this results in the cord getting wrapped around the baby along with movements. At the same time it can also get unwrapped. Externally we can do nothing about it once it happens or nothing to prevent it as well. There is no action of the mother which causes the cord to wrap around the baby.

Hi. It is common as they baby moves around in the womb. Even if there is a loop normal/ natural delivery can happen.
