Hi everyone..I am a first time mom and my baby is one month old now and and till now I have not been able to breastfeed my baby properly as there is not sufficient milk production and there is also baby latching issues like she only keeps sucking the lower part of the nipple which is very painful for me. I have tried different sitting positions and latching techniques so that I am able to breastfeed her but in vain. We have to feed her more of formula milk. I really dont want her to take that..even she doesn't like it. Pls advise on some tried and tested methods on how I can make my baby latch on correctly. Thanks.

Hi vini.. Do u eat bajare ki roti..?; Its an easy n very effective way to increase milk production.. Take bajare ka aata..means bajara flour just 2 table spoons are enough.. Roast it with ghee.. Once it looks nicely roasted.. Add water in it.. 2 glasses are enough.. And stir it well.. It should have proper consistency.. Add jaggery (gud) n mix it well.. Keep stirring n once u see mixture.. getting thicker.. Turn off the gas n take it in a bowl add warm milk n have it before it gets cold.. N for latching issue.. Try to use nipples available at medical.. Those help baby's to hold a nipple in mouth properly.. After practicing for a week feed the baby without external nipple.. M sure it will help as I myself have tried this.. Don't worry.. U can breastfeed ur baby as long as u want..

Thank u all for ur replies. Will def try following these. Also, a lot of people are telling me that as it is already a month and there is not enough milk so there's little chance that I would be able to get it now. Is it true? This is really discouraging me, though m still trying for it. In case of any suggestion on good lactation consultant in gurgaon please advise on that also. Thanks.

Neha is right you should meet with a lactation counselor as they will help you with the latch issues. In the meanwhile please do not use a bottle to feed the baby as that will cause the nipple confusion. Feed or pump often to increase the supply. Eat regular food and intake lots of healthy fluids like water butter milk coconut water soups as these help increase supply.
