hi friends.. I'm 36 weeks pregnant.. is epidural safe?? any body taken already?? required for normal or c- section ?? my baby in cephalic position so is normal possible in my case??

Epidural doesn't cause pain,its the way you feed post delivery..even the injection for anaesthesia is given in spine,it would pain more than the epidural..for c sec..When you are in labour,then decide what to do and what not..since it doesn't always goes the way you think..I also thought I would deliver normally ,so I took labour pains for almost 24 hours,but then couldn't do without epidural,But remember if you decide to take epidural,do ask the doc to support you with increasing it's dose accordingly else you will take it and it won't help and then when the time to push comes,you would be already exhausted..Take care..

thank u frnds .. ur ans so helpful at this stage.. I heard epidural leads to back pain post delivery n it last longgg?? because I already having severe backache pre pregnancy <u>also</u>

Hey anon..<br> Yes epidural is safe ..<br> I was suggested by my doc to take durin labour.. But i avoided..<br> Epidural is not for d mode of dlvry..it is to reduce ur labour pain...<br> Its good that ur baby is in cephalic position...but thats not d only criteria for normal dlvry.. Ur doc wil guide u..<br> Drink lots of watr.. Hv 4 to 5 dates daily n also do brisk walks if ur doc allows.. Stay positive n stress free.. Tk <u>cr</u>
