As a practising physician, I come across patients daily who self medicate with antibiotics. They either refer to an old prescription and take the same meds prescribed earlier or are tossed an incomplete course of antibiotics by our beloved pharmacists.
I find myself lecturing such patients almost daily warning them about the hazards of taking antibiotics during simple viral fever.
