Hi I am 18 weeks pregnent. yesterday I have my triple screening and level 2 ultrasound.
my ultrasound is normal but in triple screening my Trisomy 21 is 1:160. my dual screening was normal{ low risk}
doctor suggest me for amniocentesis.
so today I go for it.
anybody who facing same problem so

Hi, I would suggest you to go for NIPT test rather than amnio. Also, consult a genetic medicine expert. In amnio test there is 0.5% chances of miscarriage as they detect the cell of the baby through your stomach. NIPT is quite safe because that is just a blood test. Also, NIPT is more expensive than amnio. However, there is no need to worry.

As you have already taken the amniocentesis test it is now best to wait for the results. In most cases when most test as normal the amniocentesis also comes clear. It is just as an abundant caution that the test is asked for. Please try and relax as the test can take a few days to come back with the results.
