Hi I am 26weeks. The scan shows some unusual anechoic structure near left ureter. Dr. says it can be megaureter or prominent bowel loop. Kidney n bladder r working fine. Has anyone faced a similar issue? What's a prominent bowel loop? I hope my baby is fine..
What a prominent bowel loop means is that there is some narrowing or constricting of the intestines. This can cause digestion issues. In some cases as pregnancy progresses it may resolve itself. In other cases you may need to have a surgical procedure post birth to have it rectified. Do ensure that you deliver at a hospital which has NICU facility and have your Prenatal checkups on schedule

Then u need to trust ur doctor Neha. Did u ask your doctor what bowel loop is?

Yes. He said that nothing is clear as of now. He has asked to repeat scan after a month. If it's still there then action can be taken only after delivery. What action n what's the issue was unclear to him as well.
