For me, I had first internal scan at 8 weeks. Second one, NT scan at 12 weeks, third one Anamoly scan in 20 weeks and now final scan on Feb 6 which is when baby is full term

no harm at all . it's sound waves .. that's like we don't stay in vacuums .... we stay in environment that's very much surrounded with sound all the time so how come it can be harmful... yes x-rays are harmful but ultra sound is not....

Ultrasound as the name suggests is sound rays and these do not harm the baby. It is one of the easiest tools that is available to doctors as a window into the womb. It can help detect many development issues and hence corrective measures can be taken. On an average three to four ultrasounds are done during pregnancy. Early scan by week 12, anamoly scan around week 20 and a third one closer to full term to ascertain placenta function, fetal position etc. Some.doctors would do a quick two minute scan instead of a physical exam at each visit. That may be the protocol of the doctor. If you have concerns you should discuss the same with the doctor. But over all there is no evidence that ultrasounds have negative effects.
