question
Hi, Is it necessary to give burp to baby after every feed? At times my baby sleeps after taking feed and giving burp wakes him up again. Also, at night I feed my baby in lying down position. Will that cause any harm to my baby. Please advise.

Heya darling ,
Try to feed in lying down position.. this will help you rest and also will be easier to feed during the night .. Holding upright is not the only way to burp you can turn baby sideways and gently massage back of baby .. Checkout videos on YouTube for various burping positions Cheers

No need to give burp everytime, especially if your baby doesn't show discomfort. Both sleep and feed is important for the little ones if you are going to disturb the sleep then he is going to be cranky, about lying position feed if you are comfortable and confident doing it you can, I started doing it after 50 days and she started sleeping well so I'm continuing it. I gently pat her back after the feed.. There is; group where there are moms breastfeeding for 3 yrs plus and they all follow lying down position and they don't give burp after every feed.. I did lot of R&D on this. You can also give tummy time for him which will help him. Babies are really smart Rajshri they know when to burp and how to, do not worry. I'm tagging @5f5223878cd1250045aff374 she gave me the confidence of lying down position feeding.
