If you are RH negative you are asked to take the Indirect Coombs test which tells if you have been sensitized to rh positive blood factors. Post delivery if your baby is rh positive then you will be screened again and may be given a shot of rh immune globulin if you still test negative. If the screen had returned positive then the doctor would have monitored your baby more closely as there could have been complications involved.
