I want to know if u are feeding at night. she might be getting up coz she expects to be fed . and does she falls asleep on breast coz that might have become her sleep prop . a gradual and consistent approach might help . babies of 4 mon can sleep through the night.

It does take time and patience. Work at putting her down awake to sleep so that she learns how to put herself to sleep.

thanks Nazeema! she is been crying even before I introduced solids to her.. the reason behind is my BM is deceiving and she cries at breast all the time. This night behaviour started jus when she completed 4 months.

thank u Sonali, I have a small bedlamp in the room.. she just screams and cries to pick her up, difficult to see her crying for long.. she doesn't stop till I hold her..

Try a small night light so that she is not completely in the dark when she wakes up. Try having someone else Pat her back to sleep without breastfeeding.Do not rush to her and allow her to self soothe for a while. Even when you put her down to sleep ensure that she is put down awake so she learns to sleep on her own.
