No there are no foods consumed by the mother which cause jaundice. Yellow foods will cause jaundice is a complete myth. This is the result of excess bilirubin which the baby's liver is learning how to excrete. Sunlight exposure of the skin will help. Cover eyes and diaper area and expose the body to morning sunlight. Frequent feeding will make the baby urinate more often and this will also help the bilirubin excrete faster. The levels are not very high and hence phototherapy has not been suggested.
