The first thing you must do is throw away formula completely. Your milk is sufficient for the baby. Baby cries because they want to be held and comforted. Sometimes they just want to suck. Mostly children cry because of colic and parents don't understand this issue well. Please read about colic and treating it. I did this mistake of not giving up formula thinking my baby dies not get enough but that's not true. Plz seek a lactation consultant if required because forever you will live in guilt of not being g able to feed the baby

At times the baby goes thru a growth spurt. This happens periodically in the human life cycle but during the breast feeding phase it is more apparent as the demand for breast milk increases dramatically for a few days. You probably need someone to help with the baby for a few hours so that you can feed and the baby can be called by someone else in the interim periods. Try and schedule a feed once every two hours and in between if baby is fussy try other calming techniques.

Initially it is a little difficult as babies tend to stay awake during the nights but try and set a pattern . . During the nights put on a dim light and talk to the baby less . . Massage the baby in the night . . Sing to the baby and wish him good night and then don't talk much . . Feed quietly and during the day you can play with the baby and talk to him more . . So he knows the difference between days and nights . . Eventually he will start sleeping during the nights and it will be a little easier for you . .you can also try the lying down position for feeding . .you'll still have to stay awake but at least your body and back will get rest
