You can start with any first foods like rice, dal, pulses, veggies and fruits. Its good to start with Veggies first like lauki/dudhi, carrot, spinach one week at a time. as mentioned above to check for allergies.then you can mix 3-4 veggies and make a soup and feed. initially make small quantities after pureeing the mixture well in a blender. Make sure you sterilise all utensils, blender and bowl spoon. Slowly you can introduce very soft rice and dal with Veggies. make it like khichdi. You can make porridge with ragi, jowar, rice flour, wheat, dalia with water. lastly start with fruits as babies love sweet so they like fruits. you can give banana, apples, pear, papaya, chickoo

You can start with mashed fruits like banana, apple sauce and move on to porridges like suji kheer, ragi porridge etc made in water. Introduce packet milk only after consulting your paed. For breastfeeding, do it on demand as and when your child asks for it. For more recipe idea, you can go through articles on Babychakra. You will find many relevant ideas. Good luck.

strained dal is i guess the first thing doctors suggest as its very light. you may try mashed banana or for that matter gradually introduce any fruit stew to your child like apple stew, pear stew, avocado sauce. whatever you make should of a runny consistency. you can try barley water.
