My sister is in 32 week of pregnancy, she is 35 years of age. Yesterday she was injected with betamethasone(steroid) by her gynaecologist. She consulted other doctors, they said its not necessary. Please suggest.

Agree with both ladies..see betsinol is just to protect babies lungs and helps avoid any chance of fetal distress in a high risk or complicated Pregnancy..so don't worry..it's ok.

I had also been given this injection ...as I had placenta previa and the survival of the baby is protected in case of pre term labour...

Yes betnisol injections are given during pregnancy to avoid preterm labor or to enhance the lung development in baby... nothing to panic
