Reading of 2.5 or less is truly ideal, with anything 2.5 – 4.0 mIU/L considered “at risk”.<br>
For those on thyroxine, goal TSH level is between 0.5 to 2.5 mU/L. hence, in both the cases 2.5 range is bit a higher side itself.. so doctor has prescribed the medicine.. dont worry it wont harm baby instead it will help more in brain development..

the normal tsh range during pregnancy is lower than in non pregnant state. hence ur doc started u on medication.<br>
