Hi to all new moms and mom-to-bes....

I saw a lot of questions regarding what sort of foods can be given to a baby by age and number of months.I wish to provide a basic idea about the diet to follow for a baby according to its age in months

1-3 months- exclusive breastfeeding is recommended.... moms who are planning to go for work after the baby is 6 months old can bottle train the baby after the baby is about to be 3 months. You can use Naan Pro as a supplementary food also good for healthy baby growth.

4-6 months- when the baby is about 4 months, cereals such as banana cereals and raggie, rich in iron and vitamins can be given(boil banana/raggie powder mixed in water, keeping on stirring for about 5-6mins until it becomes thick....)
at the age of 6 months,it can be introduced to solids and u can start by giving part of your breakfast like idli, dosa etc but keep in mind to take small traces of food n rub till its soft for the baby to eat...at around this timeperiod, some babies start teething and these pains can be a hindrance for its peaceful sleep.try giving toothing products for soothing pain...

7-9 months- rice n veggies can be given.boiled veggies like carrot n beans can be given along with rice, with a pinch of salt/sugar to taste....
keep in mind to increase the quantity of rice month by month
10-1yrs- now it can be given any food in more amounts but babies should not be introduced to foods like meat, cows milk, egg etc before she completes one year.

breastmilk is the best medicine for every illness the baby has so breastfeed it as much as u can......

hope this helps,happy surfing,,
