The normal dal that you make for everyone, just take the top portion, the liquid part only n use it , same with rice ..while the rice is almost done before u strain it take the water it's full of carbohydrates .

Hi Ranjitha - follow the 3 day rule for every thing you introduce to the baby
1. Dal ka pani - Take 2-3 spoons of properly washed and soaked moong dal. Pressure cook it 1 cup of water. 2 whistles and it is done. Initially sift it and give the dal water only to the baby. After 10-15 days , you can give this dal water without sifting and in little thin consistency. Ensure dal is completely mashed.
2. Slowly introduce khichdi : take 2 spoons of baby rice and 3 spoons of moong dal. Add 1.5 to 2 cups of water and pressure cook it till completely cooked. Mash and give in purée form. Add ghee in small quantity after few days . After some days when you introduce veggies and fruits you can start adding non gaseous veggies to the khichdi

For 6 months old u need to start with dal ka pani , rice ka pani for a month ..then semi solids and then solids ..the transition has to be gradual ..
I gave khichdi after one year and she still loves it :-)
The khichdi I started with was very little rice, little dal *(toor n mung) n lots of veggies like raw papaya n banana , carrots etc ..salt n mash it ...
Second phase I introduced the ghee
Third I started giving tadka to the khichdi ..tadka of jeera n hing in ghee.
