Cow milk has higher protein content than mothers milk. Therefore dilute with water in 3:1 proportion the 1 being water. Add water before boiling cows milk. No need for sweetening. Feed with spoon. If that’s difficult then use feeding bottles. Maintain exemplary hygiene by sterilisation before every feed to avoid gut infection. The daily requirement of milk is between 150 ml to 200 ml per kilo body weight of baby. Underweight babies need larger quantities. Divide into approximately eight feeds in 24 hours. Feed whenever baby is hungry and not periodically by the clock. Cows milk cause pasty or firm stools. Sometimes babies may not move their bowels for several days which should not be a concern of baby is playful comfortable and feeding normally.
