I almost everyday read somewhere be it on parenting apps or FB groups or any social media sites that any easy, peasy and cost effective ways to keep kids engaged..

Even some parents write that ways by which they can make their little bundle of joy learn something..

This is what I would suggest:-

1. Instead of getting every toy or book search for ideas from things easily available at home..

Like for example to teach colours you can use fruits and vegetables...

This way kids learn colours, names of fruits and vegetables...
2. To teach manners like to say sorry, thank you , please...do it yourself.. whenever you want child to do something which they are not interested say please..if anything wrong say sorry..
3. Prayers play a vital part in upbringing of kids..

Just after waking up ask kids to start their day by saying any prayer they like and end the day by atleast saying thank you god...

Whether you believe in god or not this little things you can teach at home...
4. Paper and pencil are easily available so whenever you get time be it even 10 mins make colours worksheets according to the age of the child...
5. For teaching numbers always quantity comes first then number recognition so for it again use vegetables and fruits...like while cooking ask your child to help you with 1red tomato, 10 green lady finger etc...
6. For teaching size, heavy, light, sink , float etc again use household items like boxes of different sizes, fruits, pencil, anything easily available...
7. Teach about family by making family chart where you can stick pictures of parents, grandparents, children, siblings etc and make them understand about different relations...
8. To teach about different festivals involve them in festival and say them the importance of that particular festival and you can even read books on festivals too...
9. Teaching them sharing also can be started at home..like if you have two kids ask them to share toys and books if not if someone gave your child s sweet suppose ask them to share with you or your husband..

10. Teaching cleanliness also can be done at home by asking them to clean the toys and mess made after done playing.. initially they might not do..so help them, by singing rhymes or clapping etc but if asked to do daily ...they'll love doing it...
