no it's not necessary.. it depends on cervical length which I believe if less than 2.5 cm doc can advise you for having cervical stitch and internal OS is also observed.mine was normal.

mine is 37 mm and internal os closed..i have subchorionic hemorrhage 10 mm n also had bleeding with clots at 6 weeks.
