hi there. the reason doctors say that is because a lot of twin pregnancies are preterm. so you need to be mentally and FINANCIALLY prepared for managing two children in the NICU. (god forbid)
after the 7th month, you have to be extremely careful and cautious with your pregnancy and don't take that lightly.
given the above factors, I have delivered in 36 weeks by scheduled c-section. I have known women who've gone later. but to avoid complications a lot of mothers opt for scheduled c-section. there is also a difference between preterm and premature. preterm is children born before 40 weeks and premature is children born who have not developed fully. so if the child is born preterm does not necessarily need to be in the NICU. my babies were both fine. one had to be in the NICU for one day due to water in lungs, the other was absolutely fine. so you need not be scared. just keep faith and take wonderful care of yourself physically as well as emotionally and try to drag your pregnancy as far as you can. when you reach the 34 week mark, check with your doctor if you can wait more . all the best :-)

Hello..
it really depends on the particular case.. there are cases where delivery at 36-37 weeks were done.. and cases of 28-30 weeks delivery are there because of iugr or p/v leak etc etc risks... so, grossly it depends on the particular case.. it is too early to say anything.. hence, stay calm and just have a good healthy balanced diet and adequate oral fluids.. let nature takes the decision :)
