I am a mom of 16 months old boy. I am still breastfeeding him. I am trying from many days to feed outside milk and stop feeding. But he doesn't drink outside milk at all. As soon as the baby seens the milk glass or bottle he starts crying and goes away. Can anyone suggest some ideas how to habituate outside milk for my son. How do I stop breastfeeding and how to put him to sleep. Even till today he wakes in between for milk. What should I do.

Thank you all. . I will try all the possible methods .. my little champ does not like sweet flavours. That's the reason I am finding it though.. let me try the other forms of milk with some flavours.; Thank u once again

It's quite a normal reaction. Introduce milk in other forms like curd paneer milk shake kheer etc. It does not matter of he does not drink milk in the milk form. The waking up in the night is habit and not really need for milk. If he eats dinner well then hunger is not a reason. Have someone else put him back to sleep to break the habit. A child at this age will also understand so keep talking to him about how he is now a big boy and this kind of feeding should be stopped. Eventually it happens once baby is ready so if you feel baby is appearing traumatised then wait for a few weeks.

For putting to sleep - music worked for me. She had certain songs she wud like to listen to. We bought a rocking chair. And yes, getting someone else to put baby to sleep helps
