I am asking this question for my niece. She is 19 months old. Still she pees nd do potty wherever she want and; at any tym ; i mean 2 say no routine for her. And she is not sitting on her potty chair;; . How to bring her in a routine and how to make her sit on potty chair. If we forcibly make her sit she won't do potty.
What is the appropriate age 2 train potty nd pee training?
Should I start for my 4 month old daughter? If so, how?

If the child is only 19 months n not having a routine , don't fret so much. She's not even 2. There is no hurry no race. Every child develops this milestone at his or her own time. We just have to be aware n try from our side. Do not compare. Follow the suggestions in the post.

18 months is right age to start training and by 20 months they usually learn but you need to work with patience and love with them...

I agree to what Priyanka and Sheeba Di said pee training can be started as I too started bymaking her sit on my legs and potty training we just started after she started sitting properly, as I know the timings when she's about to poop I take her to the potty seat and make her do it. @6373145d649d830016904fec

hi dear, i started pee straining baby around 3 months like priyanka said. I would lay him on outstretched legs and make ssss sound. Later i started using words like "pee" and he would pee. Regarding potty training, a baby who can sit on the potty without fear of falling can be started onto it. I think i started around 6-7 months, the potty was a bit big for baby, but i would support and make him pee in it initially. Also if we could identify he needs to poop, we would seat him on it. Soon ds started cueing us on poop needs. Now he is fully potty trained since some time, and will himself take out the potty seat and poop(the potty is hidden from direct view of anyone). I think what works is ditching diapers completely, talking about pee and poop should be done in potty, showing by example(yes, i took him to the loo with me during the potty training period and tell him i need to pee or poop!), being consistent in the training and last but not the least, make a big deal out of it if baby does it right(its reason to celebrate if poop was got exactly into the potty, na)
