question
I am unable to tell how much breastmilk the 10 day old baby has consumed. He sleeps off while feeding and starts crying a few minutes after we put him to sleep. The baby is able to latch on properly but I can't tell if he is swallowing. If I were to give him some top feed (about 20ml) after trying breastfeeding he sleeps peacefully. Is this OK? Trying to maintain a 3 hour feed cycle. Lastly, is it a workable practice to use a breast pump to measure milk and bottle feed baby to see if 30ml is being consumed?
