actually copper iud will not cause obesity... major risks are - 
mild to moderate pain when the IUD is put,&#160; cramping or backaches for a few days after insertion,&#160; spotting between periods,&#160; irregular periods,&#160; heavier periods and worse menstrual cramps... in hormonal iud's- obesity may occur as sideeffect.. i think its post natal obesity not because of copper iud...

I had C-section in Jan. I got iud inserted for birth control during the end of Feb.. later I had a lot of weight gain .is it because of the iud?? plz suggest!! shall I get the iud removed and use some other birth control method.im very much tensed. my husband is not spending quality time with me because of my over weight.im feeling bad.plz help me.
