I had c-section on 6th december. But till now i have bleeding. After surgery i bleed profusely then i was having mild bleeding for the next 45 days. Now i bleed very little and the blood is brown. I have told my gyne about the problem he told my there can be any retained part or it can be because of hypothyroidism. He had prescribed cosklot tablets. I am scared now. What are the health threats of any placental retention? Expert advise needed. @Dr Shilpitha Singh
No didn't have placenta previa. When i asked my doctor about the reason of this prolong bleeding he told me that there can be placental retention. He is the same doctor who performed my c-section. Maybe he is not sure whether he had removed everything or not.

Go for tests to confirm the retained placental parts.. may be a CT abdomen or MRI will help.. it will be not prominently seen in USG.. did you had any complications like placenta previa etc?? Because this thing happens really rare.. as you had an open abdomen surgery, the placenta and membrane products are removed carefully by doctor..
