Accordingly an Individualized Educational Programme is developed, usually, by a Special Educator,&nbsp; Therapists (if required) and Parents.&nbsp; It's a team work. It usually&nbsp; has a short term. plan (2 yrs) and a long-term plan (5yrs.)<br> So here is where u need to list down about what problems he is facing due to slow learning. Accordingly the teaching strategies and methodologies&nbsp; will be adapted by the teacher. <br> Keep the targets realistic. <br> With children with learning challenges, consistency&nbsp; helps. There are various ways, tips, strategies that work, however, It differs with each child. You need to identify&nbsp; what is ur child's predominant learning style. you can attend speech and language therapy also if he has inadequate speech and language skills..but apart from this therapy etc..u should provide a very good home training....as therapist wil just guide u by demonstrating...to do at home is ur job...believe me he is ur kid...u can manage him well no oneelse..take help from profrssionals ..u will get an idea...work accordingly...u need to be patient and strong...its already late as u told 7 yrs..donot delay more and work for his better life&nbsp;

Hello Shradha, how much is his IQ..is it borderline or less...depending on severity of mental retardation we can expect improvement..as u told he is 7 yrs...with therapy to learn and acquire below 3 yrs is a gud age...brain is plastic that time and child learns early...now because he is 7 yrs he will improve but it requires lot of effort...i suggest&nbsp; u to consult gud psychologist...and to improve his learning u can meet special educators ....if he has behavioural issues like self biting etc u can take behaviour therapy that will help in removing his bad behaviours and bring about good behaviours..for this also u shud ask psychologist...he will require extra help in studies..speak about this in school if they can provide him extra hrs individually apart from routine class
