I love spicy food. When the dishes are not so spicy, i like to chew a raw green chilly with every bite of food. And many a times I end up with hiccups. As much as I love this food habit of mine, I hate the obstructive hiccups. They make me very uncomfortable and hinder my eating experience. People have different hacks for this. Some say that drinking water helps, some say that breath holding helps. Medical books suggest Valsalva manouvre. But this simple hichki hack works like magic for me. This hack was introduced to me by one of my Bengali classmates when I had a sudden onset of hiccups in the class even when i was just sitting idly, not talking, eating or drinking. Yes, it is about drinking water but in a certain way, that is mentioned here.
