The doctor has taken precaution by asking you to rest. It is best to follow instructions. 2.6 is not very short but I am assuming that it was more and it has reduced and that is the reason for the bed rest. The lungs will be mature so even if the baby is born early will in most likelihood not need a long NICU stay. Relax.
