I m a new breast feeding mom..my daughter is just getting used to latching up with my breast..meanwhile my right breast producez excessive of milk..since 3days i can find hard lump or solid lump in my right breast..is it common..what is the remedy and within how manys days will it get dissolved.

If the breast gets engorged due to over production of milk, you must regularly express the milk. Lumps that are formed can cause unnecessary future complications. Express the unused milk using a breast pump. Applying hot water fomentation while expressing makes the process more efficient and relaxes the breast more. The more you express, the sooner will the lump disappear. If you let the lump stay, it can cause fever etc and may need unnecessary surgical intervention to remove if it gets infected.
